FAQ’s

Therapy

1.       Why should I meet with you?

  • I work with a lot of women experiencing anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Many times these are interconnected, as the physical emotional, and relational sides of us effect each other. My clients struggle with people pleasing, perfectionism, co-dependency, and putting others’ needs and feelings before their own. So much so, that they have quieted or silenced their own voice, needs or feelings and they’ve gotten to the point where they can’t ignore the symptoms anymore. From a safe, compassionate, and holistic standpoint, I will help guide you in identifying the unhelpful behavioral/relational patterns in your life and move towards understanding where they come from, how to cope with them, and change them into healthy patterns.

2.       How do I pay for sessions?

  • Payment for sessions are due at the time of each appointment. We accept all credit &  debit, including FSA & HSA, & Venmo

3.       How long are sessions?

  • Typically sessions are 50 minutes in length. I also provide 30-minute sessions as needed.

4.       What theories do you utilize?

  • I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment theory, Motivational Interviewing, Restoration Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, & Family Systems. The theory I use with you will depend on your goals, needs, and what feels best for us during sessions.

5.       Do you take insurance?

  • I am not an "in network" provider with any insurance but if your plan has "out of network" coverage, sometimes, they will reimburse you for part of the fee. We can discuss creating a superbill that you send to your insurance provider.

6.       Do you only meet online?

  • Currently sessions are online via my HIPAA compliant software.

  • Weather and time permitting, I offer “walk-and-talk” sessions in Martinez, CA where we meet in a public location for our sessions. We can walk or simply sit at a bench for the duration of the appointment. Please ask me more about this option if you’re interested.

7.       How do I get started?
